Ryan Austin

Ryan joined the military in 2003 completing Infantry basic training and airborne school at Sand Hill, Fort Benning, GA. He later graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course to become a Green Beret and was assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) where he deployed five times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2011, he left federal active duty joining the Oregon Army National Guard (ORARNG) to continue active duty service on the state side. Currently Ryan serves as the J3/G3 Sergeant Major managing the training and operations of ORARNG Soldiers. Some of the schools he attended during his career include Ranger School, Sniper School, Jump Master, Basic and Advanced Mountaineering, Air Assault, and Pathfinder. He has a deep passion for hunting and the outdoors; thus, he cofounded Rough Terrain Outfitters to help people enjoy both and build memorable experiences.

Anthony Backman

Tony (Anthony) joined the Army in 2004 completing Infantry basic training and airborne school at Sand Hill, Fort Benning, GA. He served in and deployed with the 82nd Airborne and 2nd Infantry Divisions. In 2014, he left federal active duty joining the Oregon Army National Guard (ORARNG) to continue active duty service on the state side. Tony also deployed to Somalia and Egypt with the ORARNG and currently he serves as the fulltime Readiness NCO and Platoon Sergeant for C/2-162 IN in Gresham, OR. Tony grew up hunting with his father from the age of six. They hunted deer, elk, and bear archery, muzzle load, and rifle in Oregon and Washington and has spent 30 years learning deer, elk, and bear. He ahs a passion for helping hunters experience unforgettable public land hunts.

Shane Broome

Shane joined the Army in 2007 under a Ranger contract as an infantryman. After completing basic training, airborne school, the Ranger Indoctrination Program (RIP) and getting his tan beret he was assigned to 2’* Ranger Battalion in Fort Lewis, Washington. He completed 4 combat deployments over the course of 4 years with 2nd Ranger Battalion (3x Afghanistan. Ix Iraq). In 2011 Shane got out of active duty and joined the Oregon Army National Guard. He deployed again to Afghanistan with the Oregon Guard in 2014. In 2017 he became a Warrant Officer to fly Blackhawk helicopters. Shane is currently a Chief Warrant Officer 3 and maintenance test pilot out of the MEDEVAC unit is Salem.

Noah Austin

Noah began hunting with his father, Ryan, and Anthony at the age of nine and hasn’t missed a season in twelve years. During that time, he hunted deer, elk, bear, upland game birds, waterfowl, and turkey throughout Eastern Oregon, specifically Oregon’s Snake River, Starkey, Desolation, and Ukiah units. He has completed his Private Pilot’s license and instrumentation rating and is currently working on commercial and multi engine certifications. He has a passion for hunting, flying, and spending time in the woods helping people learn to hunt.
